During this webinar on June 9, we presented the findings of the investigation “Are YouTube algorithms addicted to state-controlled media?” to a panel of journalists, researchers, NGO and members of the civil society in an EDMO BELUX dedicated webinar.
The webinar was also the occasion to explain the methodology used in the CrossOver project, especially the comparison of results between Youtube’s official API and our user-simulation system.
A first session took place in English, and a second one in French.

Since the ban of Russia Today and Sputnik in the EU, the CrossOver project has been observing that CGTN Français, a Chinese State-run media, replaced the Russian fed content on Youtube when looking up the word “Russia”.
